Rep. Lee
Dear Neighbors,?
Though we?re in the legislative interim, work still remains. In my role as Chair of the House Capital Investment Committee, I?ve been spending the last few weeks touring the state, visiting communities and projects applying for state funds - but before I get into our work there, I want to let you know that I?ll be hosting a Town Hall next week with my District 59 colleagues.
Town Hall
On Tuesday, October 3, from 5:30-7:30pm, you can catch Sen. Champion, Rep. Agbaje, and me at the Urban Research and Outreach-Engagement Center, where we?ll be discussing our accomplishments from the past year, and getting ready for the work we?ll do next session.?
I hope to see you there!

*Traveling the State for Capital Investment*
This week, I led the House Capital Investment Committee on our tour of Northeast Minnesota, having already toured the Northwest earlier this month. We?re stopping in communities all over the state to hear about projects that need state investment to help get off the ground.
This year, I authored the largest Capital Investment Bill in state history, but that was largely taking care of unfinished business from previous years of inaction. Now, for the most part, we?re seeing new projects that have the potential to improve these cities, regions, and the entire state.
DNR Tour
Though I?m often visiting communities much different from ours, it?s the similarities that stand out the most. All Minnesotans want their communities to thrive, and I look forward to bringing the committee to other parts of the state - including our district - this fall.

*Driver's License Eligibility Expands October 1*
Beginning October 1st, more of our neighbors will be able to earn a driver?s license regardless of immigration status as a result of legislation we passed early this year. This law reverses the short-sighted 2003 law prohibiting those without U.S. citizenship status from obtaining a driver?s license in Minnesota.?
The Minnesota Department of Driver Vehicle Services has a wide variety of information on its website [ [link removed] ], including step-by-step guides in multiple languages outlining what is needed to take the written test and behind-the-wheel test, and how to schedule those appointments. Minnesota statute also requires ALL drivers to be insured. Please don?t hesitate to contact my office if you have questions or need assistance.

Thank you again for the honor of representing our community in the Minnesota House.?
Sincerely,?
