As a corps member, you’ll make a commitment to teach for at least two years in a low-income community. But you’ll be part of the Teach For America network—helping in the fight for educational equity—for a lifetime. 

 

Teach For America will offer you all sorts of support. 

Haven’t taught before? No problem: We’ll help you navigate the process of getting certified, as well as provide invaluable training and support before entry into the classroom. As a corps member, you’ll get access to tools that’ll help you be a strong, impactful teacher. TFA also offers corps members grants, financial aid, and student loan forgiveness.

 

Corps members are school employees. 

Although you’ll be part of the Teach For America network, you’ll be employed by a school or school district, and not by TFA. You’ll receive the same salary and benefits as other first-year teachers at your school or school district. Salary and cost of living vary between regions.
