I know it’s hard to think about fundraising in times like this.

Saludos John, it’s Gabe.

Right now, our government is facing the threat of a Republican Government Shutdown.

The frustrating truth is this could easily be avoided. But my opponent’s far-right Republicans are holding the government hostage rather than working across the aisle to fund critical resources — and Kevin McCarthy is sitting back, doing nothing, and allowing this to happen. Politico just reported that “[Kevin] McCarthy hasn’t phoned a single member of the opposing party about a way to keep the lights on.”

I’ll be blunt, John: there are some Republican colleagues who I enjoy working with, and who represent their districts with integrity. But I’ve had a front-row seat to this chaos as a Congressman, and it’s hurting my constituents.

It’s time for Democrats to take back the House majority, and the only way to do that is to consistently hit our fundraising goals between now and Election Day in 2024.

But right now, we have less than four days before the first public-facing FEC deadline since I officially launched my reelection campaign, and we’re not nearly where we need to be to reach our $25,000 end-of-quarter goal in time.

I know it’s a lot to ask right now, John, but if everyone reading this email chipped in $3 — that’s right, just $3 — we’d be back on track toward reaching our $25,000 goal by this Saturday at midnight when our numbers go public. Will you rush a $3 donation right now?

Thank you, John. No matter what, I want you to know that I remain committed to working for the people of New Mexico, no matter what party holds power.
