🌳 Sycamore Gap

As I am sure you will all know, sadly the iconic tree at Sycamore Gap has been deliberately cut down.
This is criminal damage, and an attack on one of the nations most famous trees. I am both devastated and outraged.
Sycamore Gap was a Northumberland landmark, and almost everyone will have their own fond memories. I was there only eleven days ago and share in everyone’s shock and upset.
The police are very much involved, and in the past few days I have been on the Wall, liaising with Northumberland National Park and will continue to work with the National Trust, the National Park and a range of other organisations to see how we can move forward.
I will also be supporting the police in their investigation to get to the bottom of this appalling act.
