Children from 28 schools in Nottingham have taken a hand in designing a huge quilt to celebrate the power of kindness.?
Textile artist Rebekah Johnston has used the children?s designs to create the ?Wrap yourself in Kindness? quilt.? There?s an extra surprise, as the corners of the quilt include QR codes that can be scanned to hear children?s voices explaining what kindness means to them. ?
The finished quilt was revealed for the first time at Bulwell Riverside Library yesterday. Children and teachers from the schools involved were there to celebrate the moment. ?
This year?s theme was ?Let?s launch into kindness?. The quilt project has been a collaboration between Nottingham City Council, ChalleNGe Nottingham and the National Literacy Trust in Nottingham and 28 schools as part of RSE (Relationships and Sex Education) Day activity. Find out more here

As we begin to enter winter, the nights become longer and days become colder, we will naturally be spending more time indoors. We must think of those family members and friends who are more at risk to winter illnesses such as ?flu, coughs and sneezes as well as COVID-19.
This season?s vaccination programme is now under way, and the NHS will be offering free Covid and 'flu jabs to those at greater risk of serious illness this autumn and winter.
For some, ?flu or COVID-19 can be very dangerous and even life-threatening and therefore I would encourage all those who are eligible for a vaccine to come forward as soon as possible to get protected.
People who may be eligible include those who are immunosuppressed, carers, pregnant women, over 65s and those at risk. Anyone eligible can book their Covid vaccinations via the NHS website, downloading the NHS App, or by calling 119 for free, if they can?t get online.
