Leah Thomas, an environmental justice advocate and author, recently visited the Jumla district in Nepal— a region well-known for its Marshi rice and Fuji apples. Their crops are shipped around the world, but farmers are now grappling with the acute effects of climate change. Together with Mercy Corps, communities are developing innovative solutions— like constructing bamboo embankments to prevent flooding and landslides—and building toward a more climate-resilient future.
