Shutdowns Reflect Bloated Government and Failure to Budget
- The government will run out of money on Sept. 30. Without agreement on a funding package, members of Congress face a looming government shutdown.
- For the 99 percent of Americans who live far from Washington, DC, it’s not always clear how a government shutdown would affect day-to-day life.
- Many federal functions continue during shutdowns. Even if there is a funding lapse, federal activities (and employees) deemed “essential” will continue to draw from the national treasury.
- Administrations can deliberately make shutdowns worse and, while there’s no indication as to how Biden plans to handle a potential government shutdown, the administration’s radical approach to issue after issue doesn’t bode well.

Time to End the Fed and Its Mismanagement of Our Economy
- Every major economic downturn of the last 110 years bears the mark of the Federal Reserve.
- In fact, as long as the Fed has been around, it has swung the economy between inflation and recession. Yet Americans, surprisingly, have tolerated it.
- Since its founding, the Fed has stolen 98% of the value of a dollar. It has used those profits to repetitively launch boom-bust cycles and to transfer trillions to the federal government, special interests and wealthy borrowers.
- We had three central banks before the Fed and confined each to the ash heap of history. The problems inherent to central banking are cause to scrap the Fed as well.

How Marxist Left Captured Higher Education
- The mission of a university is to discover truth and transmit that essential knowledge to future generations. That has been achieved by what we call in the West the Socratic dialogue.
- None of that is possible in an educational environment controlled by a Marxist Left that denies the existence of truth, that seeks to stop the transmission of past traditions to future generations, that decries Socrates and Western concepts, and that wages war on beauty.
- Now that this Left is entrenched in academia, it uses myriad ways to impose its views and suppress others.
- Political figures must understand that their political longevity depends on delivering solutions. Most universities, public and private, depend on taxpayer money. And the taxpayers have been clear: They want it to pay for the good, the true, and the beautiful.
