Hey John, The United States is on the precipice of a government shutdown. Unless Congress takes action, federal funding expires on Sunday – a disastrous consequence that would result in millions of federal workers going without their paychecks. Why is this happening? Because the Republican majority in the House is more interested in political theater than in doing their jobs. Instead of working with Democrats to compromise on spending bills, they’ve focused their energy on a nonsensical impeachment inquiry. John, this isn’t serving the American people, it’s serving the Fox News cameras. We need to flip the House blue in 2024 and bring back the adults in the room. Donate to Lucy’s re-election campaign before Saturday’s end-of-quarter FEC fundraising deadline so she can keep building Democratic political power. A shutdown would be devastating, potentially furloughing hundreds of thousands of federal workers and crippling essential services for the public. There’s no good reason it should happen. We’re all sick and tired of the incompetence of GOP elected officials. Too many politicians in Congress have completely lost touch with the fact that they were elected to do a job, not just sit back in their cushy positions of power. However, we can’t just sit back and complain. The 2024 elections will be here before we know it, and it’s imperative that we’re prepared.
