Dear Friend,

Happy September! We are in full swing at POV with a busy fall schedule. Our Counselor Advocate and Violence Prevention Specialist joint training is going well and we are excited for our new trainees who will answer our 24/7 hotline and represent us in the community. We have new MSW interns and our support groups continue to grow. We are preparing for October, Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) next month, where we hold and participate in special activities, show up all over Los Angeles providing education, and produce our annual fundraising event, Evening Over Violence. Stay tuned for more info on all our DVAM happenings!

This week marked the one-year anniversary of the invasion of POV Headquarters, my home, the home of then Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, the Hall of Administration, and Metro Transportation offices by the now former Sheriff at LASD.
