John, I remember when my husband Wes told me he wanted to run to serve our state as Governor. I always knew I married a public servant. Now, eight months into his administration, I feel exactly the same way. Wes campaigned on fearless, bold aspirations for Maryland — and he is already turning them into policy. From founding a first-of-its-kind paid year of service for Maryland’s youth to raising the minimum wage statewide, the Moore-Miller administration is making it possible for Maryland families to thrive. It’s amazing how much progress we’ve made in less than a year, but I’m not surprised. This is the Wes I’ve always known — the man who can’t sit back from service, as a husband, a father, or our governor. John, there is one part of the job Wes hates to talk about, and that’s fundraising. He doesn’t want to ask hard-working folks like you for money — but the truth is that we need to bring together the resources so Wes can stay focused on the job at hand, especially as we come up against our end-of-quarter deadline.
Thank you for pitching in, Dawn Flythe Moore
