Dear John,

Yesterday, we released the fourth episode of our new health equity podcast, Research and Justice For All.

The fourth episode features an interview with Nicole Christian-Brathwaite of Headway and Well Minds Psychiatry & Consulting about the impact that mental health care disparities have had on historically marginalized communities and strategic approaches that can improve mental health outcomes.
Hospice-Related Health Care Costs For People With Dementia
In their article in the September issue of Health Affairs, Melissa Aldridge and her team of coauthors explore health care costs associated with hospice use for people living with dementia.

They calculate the association between hospice use by people with dementia and hospice-related health care costs, finding that "for community-dwelling people with dementia, Medicare costs were lower for those who used hospice than for those who did not."

Aldridge and coauthors conclude that Medicare policies that reduce hospice use could increase Medicare costs.
