Take action to increase child care funding for your state!

Last week, Congress passed and the president signed a budget deal for fiscal years 2020 and 2021. The deal will allow Congress to increase funding for non-defense discretionary programs like the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG), Head Start, and WIC.

Senators will have the opportunity to make these investments through the appropriations process over the next few weeks. CLASP's analysis shows that increasing CCDBG funding by at least $2.4 billion, as the House bill does, would provide child care assistance to an additional 301,000 children.

To show your support for child care, join CLASP and our partners on Wednesday, August 7 for a #FundChildCare Twitter Day of Action to demonstrate the need for increased investment.

Only one in six eligible children currently recieves child care assistance. Senators must #FundChildCare to ensure more children gain access to quality, affordable care!
