I'm the underdog against Ted Cruz – but I've been an underdog all my life. I never knew my dad and spent a lot of time at the local YMCA while my mom took on extra work to support us. That only made me work harder. 

It was the same the first time I ran for office. I was facing an 11-term GOP incumbent, and experts gave me a 10% chance of winning. But I knew this district because I grew up here, and I knew folks were ready for change. So I worked harder than ever by going out every day to meet with voters and building a coalition one by one.

Folks like you helped me raise the resources I needed, and together, we flipped this seat blue for the first time in decades. We can do it once more against Ted Cruz IF you can help me build up our resources ahead of this major public deadline. Please chip in. →

We're actually better off this time around if you can believe it. I'm just 5 points down in the polls with 14% of voters undecided. Cruz only won by 2.6% last time around, and as long as we have the resources to keep connecting with voters across the state, I know we can do this.
