Expect work on Winged Victory (WWI) Monument Oct. 9-20
Scope & Impact: The area around the Winged Victory Monument will be closed off. No impacts to vehicles or pedestrians are expected.
Where: Winged Victory Monument north of the Insurance Building on West Capitol Campus. View the Capitol Campus interactive map.
When: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9 to Friday, Oct. 20.
Why: Metal preservation work will take place on the Winged Victory Monument. This work will repair corroded metal and seal spots where water has started to leak in, to maintain the integrity of the memorial.
All work is weather dependent. The Washington State Department of Enterprise Services has contracted with EverGreene Architectural Arts, Inc. of Brooklyn, New York, for this effort.
