Friend,
One year ago, Hurricane Ian made landfall in the United States – killing nearly 150 people and bringing catastrophic devastation to central Florida communities.
Before the storm hit, Americares was closely monitoring its path and communicating with partner organizations in Florida. As soon as it passed, we were ready to deploy an emergency response team to assess health needs and coordinate deliveries of critically needed resources.
In the year since, thanks to the support of humanitarians like you, we’ve provided over $1.5 million in aid to 16 Florida clinic partners that are supporting survivors – clinics that continue to be the key to ongoing recovery efforts. These emergency funds have allowed clinics to stay open and meet the health needs of thousands of hurricane survivors living with low incomes. We’ve also provided clinic partners with enough medicine to fill more than 1,100 prescriptions, including tetanus vaccine, chronic disease medicine and antibiotics. |
