Saturday is a big day—for the country and for congressional campaigns. It is a deadline for our campaign—the third quarterly FEC deadline of the year. And it is a deadline for Congress to act to fund the government. Because of this team’s generosity, we’re on our way to another solid fundraising quarter to report to the FEC. Because of the failure of leadership in the House, however, we are headed into an uncertain future.
In Washington this week, we are seeing why it is so important to elect responsible people who understand the seriousness of their roles and responsibilities. We are also seeing the importance of leadership, and the stark differences between leaders of House Democrats and House Republicans when it comes to working together for the good of the country.
What we see in the House reminds us that the stakes for 2024 could not be higher. And also, that things can be—will be—different if Democrats are back in charge in the House. Next year’s elections will determine who controls the House and Senate and who resides in the White House. We need to be prepared to run a strong campaign from now until next November—for our community and for our country.
And, as you know by now, that takes money. So I am writing to thank you for all you have done and to ask you to make a contribution to support the campaign this quarter if you are able to do so.
Together, we can do anything,
