MiCorps Annual Conference Oct. 19-20
The Michigan Clean Water Corps (MiCorps), a network of volunteer monitoring programs that collect and share surface water quality data statewide, is holding its 2023 Annual Conference at the W.K. Kellogg Biological Station in Hickory Corners, Michigan, on Oct. 20, 2023. Those traveling to the conference have the option to spend the night at the W.K. Kellogg Biological Station on Oct. 19, 2023, and participate in an afternoon workshop and evening reception.
Registration is now open for the 2023 MiCorps Conference. The agenda includes sessions on stream macroinvertebrate identification, freshwater mussel monitoring, volunteer lake data interpretation, the use of volunteer monitoring data by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) and Michigan Department of Natural Resources, and more! The conference is an opportunity to meet and interact with volunteers to share ideas and questions regarding current monitoring efforts. It is also an excellent way to learn more about the MiCorps programs, which include a Volunteer Stream Monitoring Program and Cooperative Lakes Monitoring Program.

MiCorps was established in 2004 by EGLE to engage the public in collecting water quality data for use in water resources management and protection programs. MiCorps is administered for EGLE by Michigan State University, in partnership with the Michigan Lakes and Streams Association and the Huron River Watershed Council.
