 Hello Friend, Last week I wrote you that "Nothing feeds optimism like winning." And the growing green momentum is proof of that. Winning in protecting the Greenbelt gives added energy to the Ontario Greens campaigning in Kitchener Centre for Aislinn Clancy. Right now national polls project Greens winning more seats in the next federal election. We are at approximately three times more support than in the 2021 election. And we are just getting started. The next federal election is two years away - in 2025! We are rebuilding, our goals are not just during elections. We make a difference between elections - such as we just experienced in the reversal by the regressive conservative government of Doug Ford in protecting the Greenbelt. People power made the difference! We are a political party and we are more, we are part of a global green revolution. Only Greens say out loud what people around the world know - to survive we have to live within the Earth's means. We are the only party to understand that we must break the addiction to endless growth. We must stop our economy's addiction to ever-rising house prices just as we call for the end of fossil fuel addiction. My commitment is to rebuilding the Green Party so that we can do the work. Often we are the only voices for climate sanity. And we speak in respectful tones. We defend human rights and social justice but we also treat all others with respect - even when we violently disagree with them. Democracy is fragile. To function, democracy requires an engaged citizenry and the connective tissue of trust in each other and trust in our institutions. As a national party leader I feel the responsibility to try to lift us up - all of us - from the nastiness and divisiveness of hate-based politics. Love fuels our work! I ask for your support today so we can spread the word. Share with those who feel a growing despair that it is not too late. That we can and must win the war for a livable planet. We are planning a national leaders' tour and for that, we need a healthy bank account. Please help us make the difference the planet needs. In hope!
