With the chaotic Democratic debate taking place earlier this week and Super Tuesday coming up in a few days, a lot of eyes are on South Carolina and the presidential race, but remember: our Senate race here in Mississippi is just as important. Don’t count us out.

Our country desperately needs leaders in the U.S. Senate that are willing to work across the aisle to get things done for the American people. Mississippi’s Cindy Hyde-Smith is not one of those leaders.

You don’t have to look very far to see how our state’s current Senator is letting her hyper-partisanship get in the way of doing what’s best for Mississippians. Just take a look at her Twitter feed or voting record.

The national media may be focused on the race for the presidency, but the truth is we need to take back the Senate this November too if we’re going to make real progress in our state and across the country. And we have a chance to do it: this has become a single-digit race in the polls, Hyde-Smith’s approval ratings are lower than ever before, and we just outraised her in our pre-primary fundraising period.

That’s why I know if we come together from all parts of the state, we can win this November and move Mississippi forward. But first, we have to win the primary!

Today, we’re only 10 days out from Mississippi’s democratic primary election , and just hours away from our final end-of-month deadline before voters make their voices heard.
