Friend, I know. This week's news is full of stories about the potential government shutdown, so I won’t make this long. But I want to make one thing clear.
If we don’t fund the government by Saturday, over one million active-duty military members will be required to show up to work with no pay.
Republicans’ petty power fight will take pay away from our military alongside over 800,000 federal employees. Their dysfunctional governing will hurt millions of American workers and families. And they don’t seem to care at all.
We need a party in charge that respects our service members, respects American families, and respects the duty of their office to fund the government.
