This is a big win for gun violence prevention.
Yesterday, Rob’s gun safety legislation — Senate Bill 2 — was signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom. This new law will help keep our communities safe from gun violence by strengthening California’s concealed carry weapons (CCW) restrictions, limiting firearms in sensitive places, and requiring new training programs for the safe handling and storage of firearms.
SB 2 is yet another example of California’s leadership when it comes to tackling the epidemic of gun violence.
This success would not have been possible without the diligence of AG Bonta, his partnership with Governor Newsom and State Senator Anthony Portantino, and your support.
While we celebrate this win, we have a lot more work to do to address this public health crisis and protect our children from gun violence.
