You see, The Institute of Law & Justice is the new legal arm of 40 Days for Life, the largest pro-life group in the world. We hold two nationwide campaigns each year (one in the spring and one in the fall) – 40 days, non-stop, round-the-clock prayer vigil outside abortion facilities across America.
Our Fall Campaign runs from September 27th to November 5th and will be the biggest ever.
It’ll also be the most dangerous.
In addition to the normal thefts, threats, assaults, verbal and other abuse our prayer warriors face, this year the fear of unjust prosecution also hangs over their heads.
Just ask Mark Houck, whose story made national news when the Biden Administration sent a heavily armed contingent of F.B.I. agents on a raid to arrest Mark (a pro-life speaker, sidewalk counselor, and participant in our Philadelphia 40 DAYS campaign) in front of his wife and children. Mark faced 11 years in prison before he was found NOT GUILTY by a jury in less than an hour.
Our legal team at The Institute of Law & Justice proudly defended Mark and has helped him from the start. Today we are also engaged in 12 other legal battles across the country – and soon we will launch a new case that will make headlines across the globe.
Of course, we know and expect legal issues to arise from time to time. It comes with the territory of standing on the abortion industry’s front doorstep and getting between them and the “profit” they are counting on from each abortion.
But since the overturning of Roe vs. Wade we get 1-2 FBI inquiries per week!
For years, Planned Parenthood executives have tried to label our peaceful prayer volunteers as “dangerous” and demanded that federal law enforcement “get rid of 40 Days for Life.” These demands were largely ignored, that is, until the fall of Roe v. Wade and the rise of Biden’s weaponized FBI/DOJ. Then, the harassment kicked into high gear.

Even beyond the sham FBI “inquiries” we’ve seen the request for legal support explode – during each campaign we average three requests per day for legal assistance and roughly one law enforcement contact per day.
Buffer zones, attacks, threats, municipal permitting, theft, trespass, harassment, vandalism, and the like.
In fact, we just won a legal battle in Westchester County, New York, where pro-abortion politicians put in place an unconstitutional 100-foot “buffer zone” to keep pro-lifers away from their abortion facilities!
