Back to Session

This week my colleagues and I returned to Harrisburg to begin our Fall Session. I’m glad to be back and am looking forward to the work ahead of us. We have a busy schedule set for the fall, and I am hopeful we will see movement on some of the big-ticket items like state-related university funding and mental health care improvements.

I will also continue to advocate for the programs and bills that matter most to you and your family -- bills that improve our climate, protect our public schools, safeguard our elections, and build our economy. November Election Reminder

We’re now about 6 weeks away until the November Election! On the ballot this year you will see School Board Directors, Township Supervisors / Commissioners, Borough Council Seats, Township Auditors, State Supreme Court Justices, and Pennsylvania Superior Court Judges.

October 23rd is the last day to register to vote.

October 31st is the last day to apply for a Mail-In or Absentee ballot.

November 7th is Election Day! Polls will be open from 7AM to 8PM.

Make a plan to vote today and visit vote.pa.gov for election information.

Wrapping up September and Heading into October

As we close out September, I wanted to remind you that Suicide Prevention is not just limited to September but is important year-round. If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, call, or text the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline 988 immediately.

Montgomery County also has a Mobile Crisis program available 24/7 at 1-855-634-4673 that can provide immediate support for crisis situations and assistance in managing recurring or future crises. This is available to children, teens, adults, and families.

If you are not in crisis but need mental health support, there are additional resources available to you through the county and state. Please call my office and one of my staff members will be able to direct you to helpful resources.

Heading into October, we will honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and LGBTQ+ History Month, along with Banned Books Week, Fire Prevention Week, World Teachers Day, and LGBTQ Spirit Day. These acknowledgements are important to recognize throughout our area and across Pennsylvania as they affect so many individuals and communities.
