As we rapidly approach our next FEC filing deadline, we wanted to share a few quick numbers to paint a picture of this campaign:
- $38.65: Our average online donation in August
- $10,000: The maximum amount a corporate PAC can donate to a candidate
- 258: The number of $38.65 donations we need to match a corporate max-out gift
The truth is, it's an uphill battle to run a people-powered campaign when your opponent is bringing in $10,000 donations from the likes of Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, and Boeing.
But at the same time, that's why we're running a people-powered campaign: because we know that when Callie is in Congress, she'll be listening to the people of Michigan's First District rather than corporate lobbyists.
