Patriot,
Did you know the Biden administration has the power right now to
detain (that is, imprison) Americans like you and me indefinitely
and without trial?
It's been a provision in the National Defense Authorization Act
since 2012.
This is a flagrantly unconstitutional and dangerous provision
that allows the president to throw people he deems "enemies of
the state" into prison without ever being charged with a crime.
No president should ever have that power.
Just consider the citizens now being accused of "domestic
terrorism" simply for speaking out at school board meetings,
praying in front of clinics, or disagreeing with the ruling
elites.
Under the 2012 NDAA, these citizens - people like you and me -
could be held by the government indefinitely, our due process
rights stripped away!
But right now, you and I can end indefinite detention of
Americans once and for all.
The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) is moving forward
again: the members of the conference committee have been named.
This is the special committee created when the House and Senate
pass different versions of a bill. Conferees from each house come
together to hash out the differences and create a new bill which
must then be passed by each house.
Thanks to your emails, postcards, and phone calls, you and I
ensured this odious provision was repealed in the version of the
NDAA passed by the House.
However, the Senate failed to adopt this critical amendment in
its version.
We must make certain the House demands the repeal of indefinite
detention be included in the final bill!
Right now, the momentum is on our side.
But I'm concerned, Patriot, we could also LOSE if not enough
patriots keep up the pressure. Historically, the worst things can
happen in conference committee - even adding new elements to the
bill that were in neither the original House nor Senate-passed
versions.
It's not uncommon to see spending bills that spend more money
than either the House or the Senate voted to pass in their
original bills.
And the negotiations happen behind closed doors, so you and I
likely won't know what made it into the final bill until it's on
its way to a final vote.
That's why it's crucial you call your representative at (202)
224-3121 and DEMAND they repeal the indefinite detention of
Americans without charges.
Here is a simple script you can use, whether you get a live
answer or an answering machine:
"Hello, this is [your name] from [your city and state]. I'm
calling to tell you to repeal the provision included in the 2012
National Defense Authorization Act that allows for indefinite
detention of American citizens without due process.
"I'm asking you demand the NDAA conference committee support the
repeal of indefinite detention of Americans without trial, as was
passed in the original House version of the bill this summer.
Please pass my message on to the representative and ask him/her
to tell the committee to include this repeal in the final bill.
Thank you."
Your calls made a huge difference in getting this amendment
through the House a couple of months ago. Now, I need your help
to ensure representatives hold firm to keep it in the final bill.
You and I simply MUST keep up the pressure.
We won in the House. Now they need to hold the line!
Call your Representative RIGHT NOW at (202) 224-3121.
The votes could come at any time, so don't hesitate.
And if possible, after you've contacted your representative,
please follow up with a contribution to Campaign for Liberty -
your support makes it possible for C4L to increase the pressure
by bringing this message to more patriots like you.
