Grants 101 Webinar Recording - Guidance on Applying for Federal GrantsEarlier this month, I hosted a virtual “Grants 101” webinar to provide potential applicants with information on where and how to find federal grants, guidance on how to register to apply for and receive grants, and information on resources available to grant applicants. Featured Funding Opportunities2023 Thriving Communities Program (TCP)The TCP provides intensive technical assistance to under-resourced and disadvantaged communities to help them identify, develop, and deliver transportation and community revitalization opportunities.The U.S. Department of Transportation invites Letters of Interest (LOIs) from eligible applicants interested in receiving technical assistance, planning, and capacity building support from the TCP Capacity Builders to help them compete for federal aid and deliver quality infrastructure projects that enable their communities and neighborhoods to thrive. Webinars for the FY 2023 Thriving Communities Program.LOIs must be submitted via webform by 4:59 p.m. ET on November 15, 2023. 2024 Brownfields Multipurpose, Assessment, and Cleanup (MARC) GrantEPA’s Brownfields Program provides grants and technical assistance to communities, states, tribes and others to assess, safely clean up and sustainably reuse contaminated properties.EPA has pre-recorded videos to provide an overview of the FY 2024 grants submission process and Narrative Information Sheet and threshold requirements.The application submission deadline is November 13, 2023.Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO Housing)Communities nationwide are suffering from a lack of affordable housing, and housing production is not meeting the increasing demand for accessible and available units in many urban and rural areas, particularly areas of high opportunity. Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO Housing) supports communities who are actively taking steps to remove barriers to affordable housing.Grantees may use awards to further develop, evaluate, and implement housing policy plans, improve housing strategies, and facilitate affordable housing production and preservation. Eligible applicants are local and state governments, metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs), and multijurisdictional entities.The application deadline is October 30, 2023, at 11:59pm ET Small Business ResourcesNew York Small Business Development Center (NYSBDC)The NYSBDC provides small business owners and entrepreneurs in New York with the highest quality, confidential business counseling, training, and business research at no cost.The Albany Small Business Development Center serves small businesses in the Capital Region. Since its start in 1984, the expert advisors of the Albany SBDC have worked directly with 26,807 businesses, helping them to invest $495,947,350 in the area's economy, and create or save 14,766 jobs.You can make and appoint for counseling by calling 518-442-7232 or filling out their online form.
