RG’s Fall Drive is here! That’s right, that’s right… It’s the time of year we ask you to invest in RG by renewing or becoming a member. For those of you who don’t know, I work alongside Valeriya, RG’s Membership Manager, and other RG staff and member leaders to make sure that RG is fully and powerfully funded by our members like you.
I really love doing this work with each of you…. Not because I love fundraising per se (the secret is out!). I love doing this work because instead of asking our members to fund RG willy-nilly, we invest in relationships, ground our membership asks in conversations about members’ overall redistribution and organizing, and build caring and lasting community. And we’re here to stay because we know the power and responsibility that young wealthy and class-privileged folks play in this work. Here’s just a small window of insight into the power and responsibility that Resource Generation plays in bringing our base of members together: - RG’s Campaign Team supported five RGers to throw down with Stop Cop City in Atlanta and raise $180K in 6 weeks
- 25 members convened in Denver for RG’s Organizing Summit, where they developed campaign skills and tested strategy ideas on three big campaign issues: Taxes, Housing, and Abolition.
- Dozens of members participated in RG’s Internationalism Summer School, collaborating with frontline organizations, foundations, and funders to expand their understanding and position towards redistribution and solidarity work that is more deeply connected to the international struggle against global capitalism.
- And sooo much more!!!
This work is made possible through your membership. So once again, I’m here to let you know that RG’s Fall Drive has officially launched, and it’s time to recommit to or join the RG community.

The goal of our drive is two-fold: Throughout the next month and a half, we’re asking that you join us in going hard to resource RG's work while also building membership culture. Do you believe in our mission? Are you a young person with current or future class and/or wealth privilege? Do you believe that as young people with class/wealth privilege, we should collectively fund our organizations? Then what are you waiting for?!
The foundations of RG’s membership are 1. Paying dues, 2. Signing the RP, and 3. Building vibrant membership culture. Below are some progress updates for the year:
|
|
|
Dues Progress Update: We’ve raised $1.79M from 849 members and are 45% of the way to our 2023 income goal of $3.9M. We have just over 3 months left in the year. Get those dues in! Head to Join RG website to renew your dues or become a new member! |
| RP Progress Update:
We’ve surpassed our 2023 goal of $100M, but who says we have to stop there? Only 25% of our members have signed the RP this year. Are you among the 75% that haven’t signed it yet?! Head to Redistribution Pledge to sign it now. Let’s show the world that we’re here to stay and make wealth redistribution a norm! |
| Membership Progress Update:
This year, members have met in chapters across the country, convened in Denver for the Organizing Summit, and made badass collective organizing and redistribution commitments. As we get closer to our first in-person Making Money Make Change conference since before the pandemic, I’m pumped to see us continue to connect. |

If you’re feeling unsure or finding yourself wanting that RG community but are having a hard time figuring out how to kickstart your engagement, I encourage you to reach out to me ([email protected]) or Valeriya ([email protected]) or fill out RG’s intake form and a regional organizer or member leader will be in touch!
But most of all, I encourage you to join as a member. We need you in this community and in this movement. In Solidarity, Julia

If you’re new to RG and wondering about the role of young people with wealth in social movements, MMMC is the best place to learn and connect with others like you. Through skill-building workshops, storytelling in small groups, and inspiring panels with movement leaders, you’ll leave with renewed energy toward moving money for social change.
