Push to expand voting rights gains ground in 2023

“29 states and Washington, D.C., have enacted a total of 70 laws expanding voting rights this year…”

SUPPORT VALERIE ([link removed])

John,

As Republicans have moved to restrict the right to vote across the nation, we’re fighting back.

But this doesn’t mean we can lay our guard down. Aggressive attempts to restrict the right to vote are happening in battleground states, including North Carolina. The right to vote is fundamental in a democracy, and our ability to defend it will rely on our work to protect access to the ballot.

That’s why I’m working around the clock to pass voting rights legislation. Here’s what’s on my docket:

* The Freedom to Vote Act will end partisan gerrymandering and tackle voting disenfranchisement of Black and Brown communities.

* The Democracy Restoration Act will restore voting rights to those who have been released from prison and have served their sentence.

* The John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act will safeguard our democracy by preventing discriminatory voting laws from taking effect.

My campaign relies on your support to keep this momentum going. Will you support my campaign with a $10 contribution ahead of our FEC quarterly deadline this weekend? My team tells me we are not on track to meet our $5,000 goal.
