Dear John,
Montana is a northern border state with a southern border crisis.
The latest numbers indicate Montana fentanyl seizures have doubled so far in 2023. Illegal drugs and crime are flooding our communities, and as long as the Biden administration and my colleagues across the aisle leave the border wide open, it’s only going to get worse.
That’s why I am proud to support the “Secure the Border Act” to help put an end to the southern border crisis.
Our bill would finally finish building the border wall, tighten asylum standards, criminalize visa overstays, increase the number of Border Patrol Agents, help Border Patrol Agents identify and prevent dangerous criminals from crossing our border and much more.
Every time the administration and my colleagues across the aisle turn a blind eye to this issue, they make it worse by enabling the crisis to continue. Enough is enough.
I will never stop working to secure the southern border and protect our Montana communities.
