MCLA is proud to present the second episode of five short docu-videos commemorating and documenting our work over the last 45 years. In this decade, the Council changed its original name from Spanish Speaking Affairs Council to Chicano Latino Affairs Council (CLAC). One interesting fact that we just learned is that during this time, the first attempts to remove the sunset for the Council were initiated, which is not surprising, as the Latino population continued to increase and determined to stay.
We hope that these stories make you reflect about the collective journey and transformational changes that have taken place in the last two generations in the Latino community. We are sure they will inspire you as we envision a more equitable Minnesota where everyone can thrive and prosper.??
We invite you to watch the second episode here!
If you have not watched the first episode, you can watch it here!
Governor Tim Walz also issued a Proclamation making September 15, 2023, MCLA's Day. We are very honored by this recognition! Read the Proclamation here.
