Make no mistake, Republicans are holding our economy and our government hostage. A completely avoidable government shutdown is on the horizon, all thanks to Kevin McCarthy and the MAGA Mob’s unwillingness to compromise. 

As I write this, we are mere days away from being unable to pay for essential government services like paying our military and fulfilling Social Security payments. 

Let me be clear: this crisis has been manufactured by Republican extremists who put their political agenda ahead of the American people's well-being.
