No one should have to live in fear of gun violence. And yet for so many Black Americans, we live with that fear every day in the towns and cities we call home.
That's why at Everytown for Gun Safety, we strive to learn from and work with leaders of color who are on the frontlines of gun violence prevention efforts. We're doing that by supporting state and local intervention programs that are proven to work, facilitating conversations that center communities of color, and working in lockstep with community partners — both during Black History Month and throughout the entire year.
This Black History Month, we're sharing our hopes and dreams for a future free from gun violence. Watch and share this video of Black Students Demand Action volunteers talking about what they envision for communities across the country.
At Everytown, we envision an America where communities are not subjected to violence and trauma, where we can all come together to fight the inequities of gun violence, and where Black people have the freedom to live and prosper without fear.
Watch and share our new video today, lift up our voices, and tell your community what you envision.
Thank you for being a part of this movement.
