You may be wondering who will be affected by an American government shutdown. Don't worry! Ukraine will still get paid! Unfortunately, a lot of Americans
won't
As usual, the people who will really suffer are the ones who are struggling the most already and everyday people just trying to earn a paycheck. Those who have money and power will continue to have money and power. The
theater of it is to make average people suffer to prove how much we "need" the government.
The stop-gap funding gives you about six weeks to prepare for any disruptions you may personally face.
What are your thoughts? Will you or anyone you know be affected by the shutdown if it happens? Do you have a contingency plan for it? How long do you predict a shutdown would last this time around?
"I bought my freeze dryer in 2017. At that time, I felt an urgency to prep and to get my food preps up to a certain level. I had a lot of canned food stored, but when I considered what I wanted to make with it, I had a lot of holes in the ingredients. I looked at purchasing freeze-dried ingredients. And I did buy some, but most had dates on them that were" best by" sometime in the next yearor so. Those dates are just suggestions to me, but I knew that my husband would look at those stamps and declare that stuff inedible if we went beyond them. When I did the research, I saw that freeze-dried food had the potential to be good for 25-30 years. And long-term storage was what I wanted."
