MARCH ON is dedicated to increasing voter turnout and driving Democrats to the polls. Our data-driven solutions led the way for progressive victories in 2020 and 2022. Now, we're gearing up to stop Trump’s comeback in 2024.

Dear Friend,

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re highlighting Hispanic and Latinx women leaders across Virginia and their fight to protect abortion access in their state.

Today, we’re featuring Delegate Elizabeth Guzmán!

Elizabeth Guzmán won her election to the Virginia House of Delegates in 2017, defeating a 16-year Republican incumbent to become one of the first two Latinx women elected to the House of Delegates.

During her time as Delegate, Guzmán has fought to pass legislation that ended Virginia’s ban on public sector collective bargaining and raised the minimum wage statewide. Notably, Guzmán is leading the charge to expand access to health insurance plans that cover abortion in Virginia.

In 2018, Guzmán was invited by Speaker Nancy Pelosi to give the Spanish language response to Trump’s State of the Union address. She also served as the Virginia Co-Chair of Bernie Sanders' 2020 campaign, and later, on Joe Biden’s National Latino Leadership Council.

Friend, we need pro-choice leaders like Elizabeth Guzmán in office! If we don’t get to work electing pro-choice Democrats now, extremist Republicans could take control of the State Senate to gain a trifecta in Virginia – and their first priority would be passing Governor Glenn Youngkin’s abortion ban into law.

Thank you for celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with us!
