Hi,
Will you help us plant trees in Madagascar? <[link removed]>
$1 PLANTS 1 TREE <[link removed]>
Madagascar is known for its isolation from the rest of the world, its stunning landscapes and its rich biodiversity. Of more than 200,000 species found on Madagascar, more than 80% exist nowhere else!
But Madagascar is also one of the most threatened ecosystems on the planet, with over 80% of its forest already gone. In the past two decades, almost 9 million acres of forest have been lost—that’s 1.2 gigatons of CO2 that would have otherwise been captured.
Madagascar is among the world's poorest countries, too. People's survival depends on the land and their poverty is directly linked to deforestation.
The government of Madagascar has pledged to reforest 200,000 acres of land every year. But they can’t do it on their own.
Earth Day Network is here to help. Through The Canopy Project, we are working with community groups on the ground to regrow Madagascar forests and provide sources of food and income for local communities, integrating the trees into community life to ensure their long-term survival.
Nearly 70% of Malagasy people depend directly on natural habitats to subsist, and Earth Day Network will prioritize these vital forest ecosystems.
Will you help us by donating to The Canopy Project? <[link removed]>
Every $1 donated plants one tree!
We’re counting on you,
