** Dear John,
------------------------------------------------------------
Our next webinar for educators—Teaching Mindful Media Consumption—will feature media literacy experts offering guidance and resources for helping students resist manipulative information. The webinar will also highlight real-world implementation models and resources for your practice.

Share your questions ([link removed]) [link removed] ([link removed]) for our co-hosts, and we’ll do our best to answer them in the webinar. The deadline to submit questions is 11:59 p.m. CT on Sunday, October 1. Here’s information about the webinar co-hosts:
* Matthew Vanderwerff is a senior technical advisor for IREX ([link removed]) ’s Center for Applied Learning and Impact. IREX’s My Mind > My Media program has developed a curriculum of seven modules focused on building students’ healthy media engagement, including a guide for counselors and other trained professionals to provide in-depth support to students. The program has also provided training and support to educators teaching students the skills needed to safely navigate their online information environment.
* Kerry Townsend is the library media coordinator for Columbia Public Schools in Columbia, Missouri. The district’s Library Media Department has attended an IREX Learn to Discern workshop and worked alongside IREX to adapt that curriculum for middle school students.

The webinar is set for 3:30 p.m. CT on October 25. We’ll let you know when registration opens!

As always, thanks for everything you do for students.
