Good Evening,

It's Tuesday, September 26th.

Ukraine Clarifying

Ukraine’s military said on Tuesday that it was “clarifying” whether the commander of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet had died in a recent missile strike on Moscow’s naval headquarters in Crimea, acknowledging uncertainty after Russia released a video appearing to show him at a meeting of top defense officials, as the NYT reports.

Canadian Speaker Steps Down

The Canadian legislature’s speaker quit on Tuesday, bowing to pressure from the governing Liberals and other political parties after he invited and honored a man later identified by Jewish advocacy groups as a former Nazi soldier who attended Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky’s address last week to Canadian lawmakers, as the WSJ reports.

U.S. demands protection for civilians as thousands leave Nagorno-Karabakh

As thousands of ethnic Armenians fled the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh on Tuesday, the head of the U.S. Agency for International Development, Samantha Power, called on Azerbaijan to protect the rights of civilians in the region and allow access for international monitors and humanitarian organizations, as The Washington Post reports.

Smiles

I was not smiling this Sunday after the Ravens totally blew it. Sitting with a loss to the Colts (of all teams) this week isn’t easy. But I continue to be astonished at the range of music the Ravens play over the sound system at the stadium. In one afternoon, you’ll hear a range of classic rock, rap, R&B, pop, and C&W. The song that got me this past weekend is one of country star Chris Stapleton’s new tunes, “White Horse.” Stapleton is a gigantic star with a powerful voice and serious songwriting chops. “White Horse” is an instant classic.
