Wisconsin redistricting fight focuses on the recusal of a key justice as impeachment threat lingers -- AP News

By now, you’ve probably seen the news that conservative lawmakers in Wisconsin are clinging to gerrymandered legislative maps, and arguing that Supreme Court Justice Janet Protasiewicz must recuse herself from the redistricting case.

But why? Despite the fact that millions of Wisconsinites voted for Justice Janet Protawiewicz and fair maps just months ago, Republicans want desperately to block Justice Protasiewicz and stand in the way of fair maps for Wisconsin because they rely on gerrymandering to remain in office. The prospect of fair maps that would give voice to all Wisconsinites equally has sent shockwaves through the halls of power, with the Assembly Speaker now threatening impeachment. The stakes couldn't be higher.
