John, I want to take a moment to share my story with you, because it’s important to me that you know where my love of public service stems from.

But before I start, my team’s quarterly fundraising deadline is this Saturday, and it would mean a lot to me if you could pitch in to help us meet our goal. You can do so by clicking here:

Growing up, I’ll be honest, my family struggled. Just like many middle-class families, we faced periods of financial uncertainty.

An old family photo of Katie and her twin sister as children posing with their mom and dad.My parents always did everything they could to make sure my twin sister and I were set up for success.

My family sometimes relied on support — like food stamps or reaching out to our community church — to make ends meet.

Looking back now, I know that’s where my appreciation and dedication to service and supporting others came from, because as a young girl growing up in Tempe, those selfless church members and resources were what made a real difference for my family.

That’s why I began volunteering at my church, and eventually worked at one of the nation’s largest domestic violence shelters. I learned the value of giving back to your community in the way my community gave back to me.

It was through these experiences that I saw firsthand how the failures of elected officials negatively impact everyday Arizonans. From seeing families struggle to pay medical bills, provide for their kids, or be forced to work multiple jobs in order to keep up with bills, I knew something had to change.

So I decided to run for public office, and I haven’t lost an election since.

Now, as Arizona’s 24th Governor, I’m working to right the wrongs of past elected officials.

I’m prioritizing making housing and health care more affordable and accessible, and I’m fighting non-stop to ensure Arizonans from all walks of life have the opportunity to be successful, support their families, and live as their authentic selves.

If you’re with me, please chip in ahead of my team’s end-of-quarter deadline. Extreme Republicans are doing everything they can to prevent us from making progress, and I’m counting on members of this grassroots team to support my work so that we can build an Arizona for everyone.

Thank you for taking the time to hear my story.
