Two weeks ago, Judge Hanen ruled against DACA yet again and doubled down on his decision to halt new applications.
DACA recipients are, once again, in a state of limbo, and it’s exhausting. That’s not even to mention the millions of immigrant youth who would have been eligible for DACA but can no longer apply.
Immigrant youth are tired of living court case to court case. And it doesn’t need to be this way.
In the weeks and months ahead, we’ll continue to put pressure on members of Congress and the Biden administration to deliver a pathway to citizenship. Congress and Biden promised to protect our communities, and coming up short could have devastating consequences for undocumented communities.
This latest decision shows just how important our fight for permanent protections is. DACA was not and will never be more than a temporary solution. We were here long before DACA, and we are here to stay no matter what happens.
