| It’s about service, Patriot. My name is Derrick Anderson. I’m proud to say my family has a long history of service to our great country. When I was accepted into Army ROTC at Virginia Tech (go Hokies!), it was one of the most incredible days of my life. Not only did I become the first member of my family to attend college, but I was well on my way to joining in my family’s long history of military service. After graduation, I was immediately commissioned into the U.S. Army as an Infantry Officer. I then completed Ranger school and was assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division as a Platoon Leader where I was deployed for 15 months in support of “the Surge” in Iraq. Then I became an A-Team leader in the Green Berets where I led two companies over the course of five deployments. We fought all over the world in service of our great nation. After a long career of military service, I went to law school. After graduation, I clerked for two federal judges. I’m proud of my career. While serving my country has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done, I didn’t do it for fun or to build a resume. I served my country because it’s my duty. It’s that same sense of duty that made me decide to run for Congress to represent my home in Virginia. Though I no longer wear a United States Army uniform, it does not mean I can no longer serve this nation. I pledge to be the representative the people of Virginia's 7th District deserve and are owed. I want you on my team for this campaign. I’ve just entered one of the toughest races in the country so I’m not exaggerating when I tell you that I NEED strong conservatives in my corner! We have a long and hard battle ahead of us, but I know that with folks like you on my side, we can flip the VA-07 RED! If you could donate just a few dollars to help me get my campaign off to a running start, I would be so appreciative. | Our country needs true leadership now more than ever, Patriot. We cannot sit back while Biden and the Democrats run the nation we love into the ground. So please, help me bring my years of leadership experience to Washington. | Thank you so much for your time and support.
