Turn on images. Booker says Menendez should resign, breaking silence.

The New York Times reports that New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, a close ally to Senator Bob Menendez, has called for Menendez's resignation.

You've probably heard the news: Sen. Bob Menendez arrested for bribery. Envelopes of cash and gold bars in his home. Foreign agents called him "our guy."

Democratic Congressman Andy Kim (NJ) was the first to call on him to resign. The dam then broke -- and Senator Cory Booker did as well. Now, 18 senators have asked Menendez to step down.

We will be releasing survey results in the next day to the media: Should Senator Robert Menendez resign from the U.S. Senate? Click here to voice your opinion.

Menendez stepped down as Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, but declared, "I'm not going anywhere." We'll see.

Thanks for being a bold progressive.
