Dear Republicans,

There are thousands of local elections happening across Washington State this year. Mayors, city councils, school boards—most are non-partisan. It can be tough to tell who’s who in these races or what the various candidates mean for our schools, cities and state moving forward.

The WAGOP has released a spotlight list of 37 common-sense conservative school board candidates to keep your eye on this November. The outcomes of their races can give us an indication of how our conservative message is working in WA communities.

These are the 37 school board races that pundits refer to as "bellwether" races. Based on political-lean, geography, and impact on future races, the outcome of these races can help predict the future of Washington State's political direction and the movement our Republican Party is making.

These bellwether races are listed below, arranged by county location—so you can find the races closest to you. Click on the buttons below to learn more about these important campaigns either from their campaign website, or from the county GOP website (not all local campaigns will host a campaign website). You’ll find candidate information, campaign event schedules, volunteer opportunities, and contribution links.

That last part is critical. Please contribute to these great school board candidates. Any amount helps. Your dollars go a long way in local races. You can help these candidates finish strong, as ballots are being mailed out. Help them print fliers, mail post cards, buy newspaper or radio ads and organize doorbelling efforts.

Please also look at your county GOP websites for more voting recommendations on other races in your hometown.

The Washington State Republican Party is committed to helping Republicans and common-sense conservative candidates win in 2023. And beyond. We’re confident that the voters of this state know a new direction is needed. Urgently. That new direction starts locally, over the next six weeks.

We’re excited to see the results of these spotlight school board races, come November 2023.

Sincerely,

Jim Walsh
