Friends,
Last week, Prime Minister Netanyahu visited the United States for the first time since the formation of his extreme-right government.
J Street was ready:
- We made clear that Americans who care about Israel strongly oppose Netanyahu’s anti-democratic agenda, joining our allies to rally thousands of pro-democracy protesters across the country.
- Our president Jeremy Ben-Ami addressed a major rally outside Netanyahu’s hotel in NYC.
- We also helped visiting Israeli pro-democracy protest leaders meet with Members of Congress in Washington.
- Our advocacy team – joined by thousands of grassroots supporters – continues to build momentum for the Israel Democracy Resolution, a powerful congressional statement of support for the pro-democracy movement.
- A few weeks ago, there were only a dozen cosponsors. We’re now up to 80 and counting.
- With the Netanyahu government approving settlements at an unprecedented rate, we’re making clear that the extreme-right settlement movement threatens freedom and safety for Palestinian families in occupied territory as well as Israel's own democratic future.
- J Street continues to press the Biden administration to make clear that settlement expansion violates international law and must stop now.
Friends – In both Israel and the United States, right-wing, ethno-nationalist forces continue to threaten our democratic freedoms and the future we want to hand down to our children.
Together, we must continue to mobilize, to stand with our allies and do everything in our power to speak out, stand up and push back. We can build a better future, but only if we join together and fight for it.
If this is a mission you care about, please consider chipping in $18, $36 or $90 – or any other amount – to help build J Street’s movement. You can make your donation here >>
Thank you, sincerely, for being part of this work. We couldn’t do it without your support.
