After a lifetime of hard work, we must honor the promises made to our seniors so they can retire with dignity in the state we all love.
That’s increasingly difficult to do for hundreds of thousands of our seniors ever since Republicans passed a retirement tax in order to fund tax cuts for the wealthiest Michiganders.

Nearly 20% of Michigan seniors are below or near the poverty line.
Hundreds of thousands of other seniors are struggling to get by -- they’re pinching pennies to afford groceries or struggling to cover the costs of prescriptions for their medications.
Repealing this tax will put that much-needed money back in their pockets. For so many, that’s the difference between putting food on the table, getting their prescription refilled, and having enough to make it to the end of the month.
Previous efforts to repeal this tax have failed. That’s why I need you with me.
The budget I proposed will repeal the retirement tax. Add your name if you support an end to this unfair tax on our seniors >>
Thank you for your time,
Gretchen
