Diane embodies exactly what Michiganders need in a federal representative. I’ve known her for years, and have seen first-hand how capable she is. Whether she's building up our local Democratic parties or creating on-the-ground organizations to improve lives in our state, Diane has the know-how to serve our community well in Congress.
But here's what excites me most about Diane: she is tough.
At a time when far-right extremists -- including some of my colleagues here in the Michigan State Senate -- are attacking reproductive rights, driving a political wedge between parents and teachers, and making it harder for working families to get by -- we need fighters who will stand up and defend Michiganders.
In fact, you might remember me for standing up and fighting back against baseless accusations that I was a “groomer” in a speech that went viral -- showing that Democrats can and must show a backbone in this fight.
