Tony Porter is a leader in the violence against women’s movement. A founder of A Call to Men ([link removed]) , Tony was one of only a handful of men early on in the movement who took on the issues of violence against women from the perspective of educating men, examining culture and the socialization of men and masculinity, deconstructing what it means to be a man and reconstructing a new version of healthy manhood.
He is now an internationally recognized expert on the issues of gender and racial justice, respectful healthy manhood, male socialization, and preventing violence against women and girls, sharing his experiences and encouraging men and boys to understand and break out of “the man box” and create healthy relationships and communities.
