Jack, this election got little to no national attention—except from Daily Kos: I am happy to report that Daily Kos-endorsed candidate Hal Rafter won his special election, flipping this red state House seat blue.

Winning elections like these is how we chip away at the right-wing stranglehold on our state governments. We have to continue winning elections, up and down the ballot, in every corner of the country, in order to protect our democracy and push forward the progressive movement.

Unfortunately, this year has been financially difficult for Daily Kos. We have seen two out of three of our revenue sources continually miss their projections. So instead of doing more fundraising for Democratic candidates and grassroots organizations that mobilize voters, we have had to pour our energy into making sure that we, as an organization, can make our own ends meet.
