James Carville here, folks — Let me tell you about the race that’s brewing in Wisconsin right now.

I mean it when I say that all eyes will be on Wisconsin this cycle, because defending our Senate majority and the White House could all come down to reelecting Tammy Baldwin and keeping Wisconsin blue.

And you be sure to trust me when I tell you that Wisconsin is home to some of the closest elections in recent history, so this race is bound to be a tight one. Republican Ron Johnson won Wisconsin’s other Senate seat by just 1 point last year, and the last two presidential elections were decided in Wisconsin by even less than that.

The GOP spent $77 million in Wisconsin to win last year’s Senate race and experts are predicting they could spend north of $100 million to defeat Tammy this time around! National Republicans are even trying to recruit two potential mega-millionaire opponents with pockets deep enough to bankroll their own campaigns to run against Tammy.

Listen here, team: An opponent could jump into this race any day now, especially if they see any sign of weak fundraising in Tammy’s public report to the FEC next week. If we don’t pick up the pace and show up strong for Tammy ahead of this end-of-quarter deadline, we’ll be playing catch up to the GOP’s war chest before we know it.
