Just six months ago, I began what has truly been one of the most incredible opportunities of my life -- a job that I believe my experience in the White House and years of coalition and advocacy work have been preparing me for.
It’s an honor to serve as Executive Director of PFLAG National, and I’m deeply grateful to lead an organization making a meaningful impact on the lives of LGBTQ+ people and their families.

I’ve been meeting with PFLAGers across the country, talking with parents, kids, family members, and allies to learn more about how PFLAG and its programs can better serve the LGBTQ+ community, at a time when progress for full equality is at stake.
I was alarmed to hear that in the last two years, schools were nine times less likely to take action in protecting LGBTQ+ kids in schools than under previous administrations. This is just wrong -- and LGBTQ+ youth deserve better than this.
Here at PFLAG National we are redoubling our efforts to provide greater support and guidance to families and PFLAG chapters, especially in underserved communities. Earlier this month we partnered with the NAACP at their national convention in Detroit to speak on LGBTQ+ inclusion. We are in the process of translating even more of our PFLAG support materials into Spanish. We’ve made passing the Equality Act a top priority, and recently joined forces with the Trevor Project and Family Equality Council to file an amicus brief in three upcoming landmark Supreme Court cases taking a stand to oppose workplace discrimination.
